There is some happy news from the sports world this Memorial Day weekend. Former Super Bowl winning head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers received great news last week when he found out his daughter got engaged to former Duke forward Ryan Kelly. The Duke basketball player helped lead his team to the NCAA championship game against Louisville this past season after returning from an injury. Kelly announced the engagement to the world on Twitter last week. Along with a picture of the engagement ring, @RyanKelly34 tweeted, "The love of my life @lindsaycowher said yes! #sohappy #blessed." Kelly and Lindsay Cowher have been dating since they went to high school together in Raleigh, NC.

Kelly entered the 2013 NBA draft and is expected to be drafted at some point in the second round. However, if he goes undrafted, he still will likely get a shot to tryout for an NBA team. According to the Sporting News, Kelly and Cowher both played basketball and were highly accomplished athletes at Ravenscroft High School. The 7-foot Kelly was a McDonald's All-American and top recruit, while Cowher was an all-state player. Cowher and Kelly didn't go far in college as Cowher attended Wofford before transferring to the North Carolina based Elon University.

Bill Cowher is currently not coaching, but that is by his own choice. He is a highly coveted coach after leading the Pittsburgh Steelers to a Super Bowl victory in 2006. Since leaving the Steelers, there have been rumors that Cowher would be interested in coaching the Carolina Panthers to coach close to his North Carolina home.
