Daft Punk's 2013 album "Random Access Memories" was one of the most highly anticipated albums of the year. Ever since Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter started releasing teaser videos of their single "Get Lucky," fans have been craving more. The record setting album features collaborations from the likes of Pharrell Williams, Niles Rodgers, Panda Bear and others. "Get Lucky" quickly began setting records and many predicted "Random Access Memories" could do the same. Well, according to The Independent, Daft Punk's 2013 album has become the fastest selling record this year.

"Random Access Memories" shifted 165,000 copies during the first week, making it the fast selling album in 2013. The album tops the UK charts, coming in ahead of Rod Stewart's "Time" and the National's "Trouble Will Find Me." However, despite the strong numbers for Daft Punk's new album, many had predicted even stronger numbers. Daft Punk's "Random Access Memories" came in well below Oasis' "Be Here Now" album in 1997, which sold over 700,000 copies.

Meanwhile, there is no new news surrounding the band doing any shows in 2013. Obviously, they really don't need to do any extra promotion for the album, but fans would certainly be psyched to see the French duo perform live. Pharrell Williams had said in the past he would be touring with Daft Punk, but the band had quickly shot down that idea. Still, with Daft Punk you never know when they may randomly show up for a performance.
