The Kings are back to reclaim their crown. The talented band of brothers, The King of Leon, are back with the follow up to their 2010 "Come Around Sundown." With an album release date and a new single, The southern rock band will return this fall with their sixth studio album, "Mechanical Bull," according to Billboard.
The first single is reportedly titled "Super Soaker" and will be released in mid-July. The group reportedly finished recording the album with longtime producer Angelo Petraglia in March, after starting in on the project last fall, reported Billboard.
Earlier this year, bassist Jared Followill told England's NME that he was surprised by the sound of the new music. "I thought we were going to make a really mature album but I'm amazed how youthful it sounds. It's like a mix of Youth & Young Manhood and Because of the Times," MTV News Reported. The band debuted the surging new rock song "It Don't Matter" at a California festival date in May.
"Mechanical Bull" follows 2010's "Come Around Sundown," which has sold 727,000 copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The Southern rock group's 2008 breakout full-length, "Only By The Night," has sold 2.3 million copies and spawned the smash hit "Use Somebody," which won the Grammy Award for Record of the Year in 2010, Billboard reported.
While KOL suffered a disband and family fued in 2011, which lead to the breakdown of lead singer Caleb Followill, and the cancelation of the US tour, the rock band is back and ready for tour in 2013.
