It's a "Hard Knock" life for some, but apparently it isn't for Sandra Bullock. The star of the upcoming comedy The Heat is in talks to star as Miss Hannigan in Will Smith and Jay-Z's remake of the popular musical Annie.

According to Yahoo! Movies, Bullock initially passed on the role. However, she's in talks yet again to portray Miss Hannigan, the evil woman who runs the orphanage in which Annie and her friends live and work.

The young Oscar-nominated star of Beasts of the Southern Wild, Quvenzhane Wallis is set to star as the title orphan. Jamie Foxx will appear as an updated Daddy Warbucks, called Benjamin Stacks in the 2014 version.

Emma Thompson (Nanny McPhee) and Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada) penned the updated Annie. Will Gluck, best known for 2010's Easy A will direct the film. Superstars Will Smith and Jay-Z will produce the flick, which will be aimed more toward an African-American audience.

Annie is set to begin filiming in the fall. It's aiming to be in theatres on Christmas Day 2014.

Though the Miss Hannigan casting is just a rumor, Sandra Bullock is still busy with other projects. The comedienne stars in The Heat, due out June 24, with funnywoman Melissa McCarthy.

That film came into controversy earlier this week, when posters were allegedly photoshopped to make the famously curvy McCarthy appear to be skinnier. Her face and neck appear to have been slimmed down in the promotional material, drawing fire from many women's and body acceptance advocacy groups.

Bullock will also star in this fall's Gravity. A science fiction thriller about astronauts lost in space, who attempt to return home.

Are fans looking forward to the Annie remake and Sandra Bullock's role? Or should Smith and co. just leave the classic musical alone?
