'Man of Steel' Supergirl Spinoff: Superman Producer Hints at a New Movie in Interview? Casting Rumors, Taylor Swift Playing Supergirl?

Yes, the latest Superman movie "Man of Steel" is still only in its opening weekend, but rumors have already started about a reboot. "Man of Steel" is expected to rake in a lot of money at the box office and its success could lead Warner Bros. to seek the possibility of starting more super hero movie franchises. Rumors are already swirling surrounding the possibility of a Supergirl spin-off. According to Yahoo! UK & Ireland, "Man of Steel" producer Deborah Snyder made some interesting remarks hinting at a possible Supergirl movie.

Snyder spoke with Crave Online in an exclusive interview and the "Man of Steel" producer made some interesting comments. "You know what's interesting, and I don't know and I'm not going to say what it means or anything, but the one thing if you look closely when Henry's going through the Fortress of Solitude there's an empty... you know all the bodies... the pods?" Snyder asked. "There's an empty pod. I'm not going to say what, or if, it means anything but there is an empty pod there." Does this mean there will definitely be a Supergirl reboot? No, but the hint in "Man of Steel" leaves the door open. A lot depends on the success of "Man of Steel" at the box office.

Crave Online asked Snyder directly if Supergirl was in that empty pod and Synder's response was "No." However, Snyder continued by saying, "I'm not going to say anything but, it's a thing." The "Man of Steel" producer continues, "It's a thing. That's one Easter Egg that, I don't know. Again, it might not mean anything, (but) it might mean something..."

There are a lot of possibilities, including that Warner Bros. isn't sure yet what to do with that empty pod in "Man of Steel" Supergirl could end up showing up in the "Man of Steel" sequel, or she could have her own movie. We will have to wait and see. So who would play Supergirl? Well, those rumors have yet to really begin. The latest rumor (three years ago) involving a Supergirl casting was with Taylor Swift. However, don't get too emotional, Screen Rant quickly shot down that rumor.
