Slim Whitman and Chet Flippo are both dead today.

Whitman lived to be 90 years old, he was best known for his intense ability to yodel, he would do it at a very high pitch and would actually sound good doing it. The country community is dealing with the devestating loss today as best as they can, right now twitter is being flooded with condolences for the loss of these two legends in the country scene.

The Oak Ridge Boys are the first group which I saw make a comment about the death of these two gentlemen. No doubt it is taking a toll on them as well as others within the country scene. As I write this there have been over 100 new tweets about this loss. Now these two will have their legacy woven into the history of poular culture, country, and America.

Flippo was an incredible writer. If you name a famous musician, past or present, chances are that this man has written a story about them. All a journalist wants is to get the word out to the world about things that matter to them. This man was one of those people who had the art mastered, and now his legacy is left behind for others to learn from.

These two wonderful editions to life will be sorely missed. Yours truly included, especially since I write articles in this genre. Both men deserve to be remembered for their accompishments, and you can bet they will be forever.
