Rapper Eminem aka Marshall Mathers has opened up about nearly dying from his prescription drug addiction. The "Lose Yourself" rapper has shielded himself from the spotlight for some time now, but with rumors of a new 2013 album set to be released at some point this summer and a few concerts coming up, "Slim Shady" is making his way back into the headlines. Eminem's new album is rumored to be released July 2; however, without as much as a tease or single released that is doubtful.

Most likely, Eminem's new 2013 album will be released sometime later this summer or early fall, but make sure you keep checking Mstars for the latest Eminem news. As for his prescription pill addiction, the rapper opened up in a new documentary titled "How to Make Money Selling Drugs." The Christian Science Monitor reports that Eminem didn't originally think there was a problem, because the drugs were prescribed by a doctor.

"When I took my first Vicodin, it was like this feeling of 'Ahh.' Like everything was not only mellow, but [I] didn't feel any pain," Eminem explains. "I don't know at what point exactly it started to be a problem. I just remember liking it more and more," the rapper admits in the film. "People tried to tell me that I had a problem."

According to the documentary Eminem was hospitalized and on the brink of death at one point. However, the rapper has thankfully gotten the habit under control. According to IMDB, the documentary was released back in April.
