After witnessing the train wreck that was Desiree Hartsock's hometown date during ABC's last "Bachelor" season with Sean Lowe, America tuned in to "The Bachelorette" Monday night, July 15th, hoping that that there would be no psychotic siblings this time around to ruin Des's second shot at love with the four remaining men on her own season: Drew Kenney, Zak Waddell, Brooks Forester, and Chris Siegfried.

Although the bachelorette's brother did make a brief cameo during the hometown dates episode (7/15), Nate was not the Hartsock responsible for Zak's tears and his impulsive decision to chuck a promise ring out of the limo upon his elimination from the competition. How did meeting the families go for each of the final four men? Let's recap:

Zak (the drilling engineer) was up first as Desiree visited him in his hometown of Dallas, Texas. Desiree jokingly admitted she never thought she'd be meeting the family of the man who showed up shirtless during their first meeting. As they met in a park setting, Zak told Des about the bizarre dream he had last night. He attempted to explain how the two of them were melting on a beach (Des looked as confused as we were), which led up to him surprising Desiree with a ride in the family snow cone truck. Zak puts Des to work as they sell snow cones to elementary school kids. Afterwards, she revealed that she love's Zak positive outlook on life and his spontaneity.

The time finally came to meet Zak's family which involved a family sing-a-long that caused Des to cry (most likely from trying to hold in her laughter). Zak's mom thought Des was "fabulous" and his sister was nervous that Des would break her brother's heart. She could see that Zak was really falling for Desiree. At the end of the date, Zak gave Des a promise ring and confessed that he loved her. A speechless Des cried once again.

The next hometown date took us to Drew's house in Scottsdale, Arizona where Des met his family, including his mentally handicapped sister Melissa. Although he was extremely nervous to introduce Desiree to his sister, their interaction went as well as he could have hoped for. After meeting Melissa, Des met the rest of Drew's family which also went very well. Desiree told Drew's dad that she was immediately attracted to his son. Drew's dad called Des "real," "perfect," and "gorgeous." Dad gave Drew his blessing as Drew admitted he could see himself proposing to Desiree. Desiree thought that Drew's family was "phenomenal" and wants to have a spot in it. Drew sends Des off with the bold words "I love you" and a passionate kiss. He told the camera's that he was "overwhelmed by love."

Chris's hometown was up next: McMinville, Oregon. Desiree & Chris met in a park where they suited up in their baseball gear and had a catch. Chris was impressed with Desiree's batting skills and the two "hit it out of the park" during their day date. Desiree confessed that Chris is a blend of everything she's been looking for in a man and it feels like they've known each other forever. Desiree drew Chris a collection of pictures illustrating their experiences together (and no Chris surprisingly did not respond with a poem).

When it came time to meet the family, Chris's chiropractic dad didn't waste anytime getting Desiree alone for an "adjustment." Between having Des lie face-down with her butt in the air and cracking her back, the bachelorette attempted to get in a few words about how much she likes his son. The awkward encounters didn't stop there as Chris received a nose adjustment from his father (which looked like a balloon with a needle attached was being shoved up his nose). He admitted to his dad how compatible he and Des are and assured him that she takes good care or herself.

Des's one-on-one time with Chris's mom was almost as awkward as her one-on-one with his dad. The overprotective mom seemed to be grilling Desiree as she explained that Chris's last relationship really hurt him. The family also admitted that they strongly disliked Chris's ex. However, Desiree must have answered all of mom's questions correctly because Mom gave her son her approval, her blessing and began to cry hysterically. Chris revealed that he thinks Desiree is "the one" as they said their goodbyes. He made it through an entire evening without reciting poetry.

The last hometown date took Des in Salt Lake City, Utah to meet Brook's huge family. Des and Brooks drank wine in a picturesque, mountainous setting and later took a cone ride on the lake. Brooks admitted that he is having a hard time with the whole "Bachelorette" process and sharing Desiree with other men. He therefore is holding back when it comes to falling in love with Desiree. Desiree, on the other hand, is head-over-heels for Brooks and tries to show him by making a paper rose that lists each of their special moments that they've shared together. Brooks appreciated the gesture and seemed a little less skeptical by the end of their day date.

Desiree went to Brook's house to meet the family who were all wearing name tags and greeted Des excitedly. This time around, Des was the one doing the "grilling." She asked Brook's mom questions like if she thinks her son is ready for marriage and what kind of father/husband he would be. When Brooks asked his mom how the time spent with Desiree went, his mom answered "it went okay I think." Brooks also admitted to his mom that he's struggling with becoming vulnerable with Des. It doesn't seem like he's ready to propose to Des anytime soon even though she is clearly in love with him. Brooks let the hometown date end without telling Desiree that he loves her (like the other 3 guys) and tells the cameras that he feels closer to possibly wanting to marry her after today.

After leaving Utah, Desiree went to a hotel where she met up with her brother Nate. She hadn't seen him since the disastrous hometown incident months back and admitted that the two hadn't spoken for a few months after Nate ruined her chances with Sean Lowe. She is unsure if she wants her brother to meet the guys this time around. Desiree tries to describe each man's redeeming qualities to her brother, but he still is eager to meet them. Nate also says he supports his sister 100%, but doesn't want to see her get hurt.

After a pep talk with Chris Harrison where Des admits she sees a proposal from Brooks in the end (spoiler alert), it finally came time for the rose ceremony. Brooks got the first rose (of course), Chris got the second, and Drew got the third. Zak was completely shocked that he was eliminated and admitted that he didn't see it coming. Although Desiree reassures Zak that the promise ring was a "beautiful gesture," she gave it back to him and he later chucked it out the window. She explained that she weighed out each relationship and didn't feel like she was where Zak was in their relationship (aka was creeped out by the promise ring/doesn't love him).

Will Desiree get the proposal she is expecting from Brooks in the end? Continue watching "The Bachelorette" on ABC Monday nights to find out who will get the final rose and live happily ever after with Desiree.
