Andre 3000 As Jimi Hendrix: First Official Photo From 'All Is By My Side' Released [PHOTO]

Above is the first official photo of Andre 3000 (aka Three Stacks, aka Andre Benjamin) as Jimi Hendrix in the upcoming biopic All Is By My Side. If there was any doubt about casting Benjamin in the lead role, this photo should put it to bed. I mean, Jeezus.

The pic was posted by the Toronto International Film Festival, where the film will make its debut. A synopsis was also posted alongside the image:

 "Jimmy James, an unknown backup guitarist, left New York City for London, England in 1966. A year later he returned - as Jimi Hendrix. All Is By My Side brings authenticity and poignancy to the story of the man behind the legend, and of the people who loved and inspired him." 

Interestingly enough, the film will not feature any songs that the guitar virtuoso made famous before his untimely death at the age of 27. Not only did Hendrix's family never clear the film to use the songs, the movie's makers never even asked for them. The John Ridley-helmed and penned movie will apparently focus on the pre-fame years before the release of Are You Experienced?
