Is there new music on the way from Lily Allen? The "Smile" singer has hinted that she may be releasing a new single in the spring of 2014 on her official Twitter account.

Like some other recent single and album announcements (most notably, Arcade Fire), Allen hinted that new music may be on the way in a toss aside manner, simply replying to a pop music news website that engaged in a conversation with the British songstress.

"Imagine is Beyoncé just whacked a single on iTunes and imagine if it was unequivocally amazing," wrote @Popjustice. The idea piqued the interest of Allen who then responded, "wait, has she?"

Bey has not dropped a new single (and has no tentative plans to do so, it seems), but Allen just may in the coming months. "The same goes for you too Lily," @Popjustice responded. To which she simply answered: "April March."

If a spring due date is set for a new single from Allen, it will surely make her legions of fans excited. Her last studio album, "It's Not Me, It's You" was released in 2008. Allen then took a break from the music industry to get married and have children. Allen married Sam Cooper in 2011, and the couple has had two daughters, Ethel and Marnie.

A new single from Allen in the spring wouldn't be the most recent music from the singer, though. She sings a guest verse on the most recent P!nk single "True Love," from "The Truth About Love." The music video for that track debuted July 1.
