American pop sensation Taylor Swift has just been cast in a new spy movie, The Secret Service. Compared to the James Bond franchise, the film will star Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson and Michael Caine. The production team apparently wants other pop stars in the mix since Elton John and Adele have also reportedly been offered cameo roles in the film. David Beckham was also offered a cameo role and Taylor is pretty excited about that.

A production recently revealed some information regarding Taylor's casting. The source said: "Filming commences in October and will shoot mainly in London and south of France. Matthew looked at a number of actresses to play the part before settling on Taylor - apparently she was a natural on the big screen."

"She's also someone fresh and unseen in Hollywood terms which was massively appealing," the source added. "She will be required to have some heavy-duty martial arts training in order that her character convincingly kick Samuel L Jackson's butt. It will be Taylor's biggest challenge to date but she cannot wait. She is also looking forward to working with David Beckham whom she thinks is amazing looking - but taken."

The Secret Service is based on the Mark Millar comic book of the same name, with Taron Egerton starring in the main role. Firth plays Egerton's secret agent uncle who works alongside Caine's character, taking on a series of villains. Swift will play a young girl kidnapped by Samuel L. Jackson who manages to escape.

What do you think of Taylor's new role? Are you excited that the Red songstress is getting back into acting? What do you think of all of the cameos in the upcoming movie? Let us know what you think about all of this in the comments section!
