One Direction's Liam Payne Dating Sophia Smith [PHOTOS]: 1D Hunk Saves Andy Samuels from London Party Fire While New Girlfriend Deals w/ Twitter Threats

One Direction's Liam Payne definitely had a hectic week, to say the least. On September 3, his 34^th floor apartment balcony was the scene of a flash fire, which landed his friend Andy Samuels in the hospital with severe burns. Though Liam was not injured, the incident has left the active Twitter user silent and shaken.

A source stated: "His friend went to fill up the gas for a heating lamp, there was some sort of accident and the whole balcony went up in flames."

The London Fire Brigade released this official statement:

"Firefighters worked quickly and professionally to get the fire under control as quickly as possible. Around 30 people left the building before we arrived and were not injured. Two of the occupants had superficial burns to their hands and the third had burns to his hands and face. All three have been taken to hospital."

Samuels' girlfriend, Daisie Smith, posted the following thank you message on Twitter in response to everyone's concerns and the "Pray For Andy" trend:

Payne is now considered a hero on Twitter, especially after he revealed in the recent documentary concert film One Direction: This Is Us that he wanted to be a firefighter if he was not in the boy band. On top of this tragic event, his new girlfriend Sophia Smith is still dealing with angry One Direction fans sending her threatening messages over social media networks.
