After about a month or so of anticipation, we can now listen to the first teaser clip of Demi Lovato's performance on the upcoming fifth season of "Glee." The "Heart Attack" songstress performs the Beatles' "Here Comes the Sun" with her love lesbian interest on the show, Santana, played by Naya Rivera. Enjoy this 30-second audio clip right here:

What did you think of this first clip?

Clearly Demi's lesbian role is a way to gain more viewers for the show, but she does not want that to be the bottom line to her performance and the overall message. During a recent interview on Ryan Seacrest's radio show, Demi opened up about her upcoming role and wanted to make sure that the focus was on the show and her acting, not her character's sexuality.

"I don't want people to take from this, 'Oh my god, Demi is kissing a girl,'" she said. "I want people to take from it this is actually an incredible step in our generation today where I'm able to play a young lesbian on primetime TV. ... I'm honored to be able to be hopefully inspiring people with my character to be who they are and not be afraid of it or ashamed."

Do you think that Demi's appearance on "Glee" will be overshadowed by her character's sexuality?

"I'm good friends with a lot of the cast members already," Demi said of her experience on set. "So it was like walking into a giant hang-out."

Demi will be sharing her on-screen time with Naya Rivera who is pretty excited to be working with the pop star.

"She's playing my love interest, so I'm very, very excited about that," Naya said. "We get to sing a song together. It's going to be good, I'm excited to work with her."

"Glee" returns Thursday, September 26.
