Lorde 'Pure Heroine' Album Stream: LISTEN to Simplistic, Strong Debut from 'Royals' Singer Before Sept. 24 Release Date [AUDIO]

“Royals” singer Lorde is a refreshing presence in pop music. Her stripped-down sound, relatable lyrics and exquisite youthful voice has quickly made the 16-year-old the next big thing in alternative rock and pop. Her debut album, “Pure Heroine,” will make its way to record stores and iTunes tomorrow. Until then, fans can listen to a stream of the album on VH1.

Singles “Royals” and “Tennis Court” led the release of “Pure Heroine” in the US. The former has had remarkable success. It currently sits at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, and recently surpassed Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” as the top-selling single on iTunes. “Royals” has established Lorde, real name Ella Yelich-O’Connor, as one of the biggest rising stars in music and has surpassed Alanis’ Morrisette’s “You Oughta Know” as the longest solo female single at the top of the Alternative Songs chart.

“Pure Heroine” largely follows in the style that “Royals” and “Tennis Court” established. Lorde explores what it’s like to grown up in the modern era and her disconnect with musical trends. The record is also full is stripped down instrumentation. Though it veers into atmospheric territory, much of “Pure Heroine” features simple beats and electronic music.
