The remake of Carrie starring Chloe Grace Moretz will hit theaters this month, so in order to help promote the film a coffee shop in New York was turned into a nightmare shop. "Snice Coffee Shop" in the West Village was set up to appear to be taken over by some sort of telekinetic energy user in order to prank patrons, reminding them of the character of Carrie from the film. Do you think it had an impact?

Here is what the YouTube page for the viral video had in the video description:

"What if telekinesis was real? How would you react? Our hidden camera experiment captures the reactions of unsuspecting customers at a New York City coffee shop as they witness a telekinetic event."

No thank you, please! Check out this nightmare fuel right here:

What did you think of this little "pranksvertisement" for the upcoming Carrie movie? Did it make you think of the movie at all? Perhaps it even influenced your decision of whether to see it or not? Let us know in the comments section.

What other viral marketing ideas do you think Carrie will incorporate into promotions before the October 18, 2013, release?

Here is our list of possible viral marketing ideas!

  1. More telekinesis-based ideas: Lift up a car or a bus full of commuters! That would be horrifying for the people inside and outside of the vehicle!
  2. Make someone think that they won some sort of a prize and as the person's face is full of joy and excitement, dump a bucket of fake blood on them. Yes, I know this is a spoiler for the movie and would be a terrible "prank," but this is a weird movie to try to get ideas from!
  3. Have John Travolta do the above idea. Yes, he was in the original Carrie movie and that is a hilarious fact.

These are the only ideas we can list because Carrie is a very scary movie.
