The Killers' lead singer Brandon Flowers just can't stop making music. According to a new interview with NME, after the "Mr. Brightside" band finishes up their tour in support of their latest album "Battle Born" this year, he will go home to Las Vegas and begin the process of writing and recording his second solo record.

"I'm excited about going home. I'm looking forward to having a normal year," he said. "But, I'm going to write. I'm going to be filling those diamonds. It's my job. I'm just going to put my heart and soul into my solo record."

Flowers said he will spend 2014 working on the solo effort, tentatively due for the following year.

The 2015 solo album will be the second of such an effort from Flowers, who released "Flamingos" in 2010 in between The Killers' records "Day & Age" (2008) and "Battle Born" (2012).

"Flamingos" failed to make a huge mark in the US, though the record's lead single "Crossfire" experienced moderate alternative radio success.

Fans of Flowers voice won't have to wait another two years before hearing new music from the frontman or The Killers. The band's best-of album "Direct Hits" is due to hit stores Nov. 12.

The career-spanning record will include massive hits such as "Mr. Brightside" and "When You Were Young," but there will also be two new songs: "Shot at the Night" and "Just Another Girl."

The Killers' Battle Born Tour, in support of the record of the same name, will wrap up Oct. 27 in the band's hometown of Las Vegas. The band began the expansive global trek in July 2012.
