Bruce Willis hadn't hosted an episode of Saturday Night Live since 1989, but this weekend he made a pretty impressive return to the sketch comedy world. Though the actor is most known for his action movie roles, his comedy chops were put to the test on SNL and he definitely got plenty of laughs throughout the night. Plus Katy Perry's musical performances were incredible.

This week's SNL opened strong with a parody on the number one movie in America, Gravity, and the current government shutdown. Taran Killam and Cecily Strong as astronauts adrift in space while NASA is shut down was funny enough, but having Keenan Thompson and Kate McKinnon portraying a janitor and cleaning lady filling in during the tragedy made it a strong cold open.

Willis' monologue was funny enough and a great way for him to show off his harmonica skills. Also, Bobby Moynihan is very funny!

This pre-recorded sketch got most of the laughs this week. Involving Willis in such a ridiculous sketch also gets some bonus points for the actor. It's just nice to see the seasoned action star in such a goofy situation.

"BEER PONG" had to be the funniest sketches of this week's episode. The awkwardness of Beck Bennett and Kyle Mooney's fast-paced, deadpan lines really show how the two got hired on Saturday Night Live:

Here are the Katy Perry's two performances from last night. They were pretty big spectacles that were quite enjoyable for all viewers. Check them out right here:
