Michael Bay is one of the world's biggest filmmakers out there. He is known for his use of explosions over smart dialogue, leading a lot of moviegoers to have a certain distaste for the eccentric man. That said, the Armageddon director this week was attacked by two men on the Hong Kong set of Transformers 4 when he refused to give them a large sum of money.

Hong Kong police have only released the victim's first name, but local media has revealed it to be Bay. According to a police report, the men came right up to the director and demanded money. When he refused one of the assailants punched Bay in the face, resulting in some facial bruising and a larger scuffle with three police officers.

The men have been arrested and face charges of assault, extortion and blackmail.

"When the movie crew was filming, one of the arrested persons was seeking HK$100,000 ($12,900) [from Bay], leading to a scuffle. Another arrested person suddenly attacked him," police said in an official statement. "The right side of his face was injured, but he refused to go to the hospital."

One would assume that Bay simply went right back into filming the fourth installment of his Transformers franchise, which has Mark Whalberg starring.

Bay has yet to confirm nor deny this news, but get ready for plenty of "punching Michael Bay in the face" comments from around the Internet. If anything, we might be hearing that people sympathize with the attackers!
