Gwyneth Paltrow Cheating Rumors: 'Vanity Fair' Profile of 'Iron Man' Starlet Alleges Affair w/ Billionaire Jeff Soffer

According to numerous reports this week, actress Gwyneth Paltrow has been trying her hardest to deter the publication of a new profile for Vanity Fair. This might seem odd, considering the profile is actually about Paltrow herself, but it apparently involved an affair she had with billionaire Jeff Soffer. Expect a lot more controversy to spring up when the article is published, but for now we shall provide some more details on the situation.

Paltrow had reportedly been pleading with the magazine to not run the story, but Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter announced this week that it would still run the piece. The subject matter of the article was the investigation into whether or not Paltrow and Soffer (owner of Miami's Fontainebleau Hotel) had this affair.

Vanity Fair is asking if Gwyneth had an affair with Jeff back in 2008 when he reopened the Fontainebleau," an insider recently explained. "He flew her in for the party, and she stayed at his house."

Of course a rep for Paltrow has called this report "ridiculous," sating: "She has been friends for him for a long time. Chris [Martin] is friends with him as well. He flew down a dozen friends. There was no romantic relationship."

Last month, The New York Times ran a story saying Paltrow sent an e-mail out to her friends about this Vanity Fair issue.

"Vanity Fair is threatening to put me on the cover of their magazine," she reportedly wrote in May of this year, according to a source that had seen the e-mail in question. "If you are asked for quotes or comments, please decline. Also, I recommend you all never do this magazine again." 

Paltrow's fears may be coming true, since Vanity Fair's Carter admitted to the Times of London this week: "We started a story on her. We have a very good writer and it'll run."

Paltrow is currently married to and has two children with Coldplay singer Chris Martin. Meanwhile Soffer is married to former model Elle Macpherson.
