Due in part to the recent success of ABC's Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Marvel is looking to add more shows to basic cable and streaming. According to a new rumor (the comic book company that has seen plenty of success in the film industry) is hoping to expand its brand with 4 new television series and a miniseries.

First of all, on top of this new rumor, Marvel is already preparing a new One-Shot short film featuring Captain America: The First Avenger character Agent Peggy Carter. This is already in the works, but it could turn into the second television series from the company. We'll have to wait and see on this one, but onto some more rumors!

In regards to the 4 series and new miniseries, Deadline broke the news, reporting:

No one would breathe a word, with rumors that everyone from top to bottom is bound by strict nondisclosure agreements, but I hear that Marvel is quietly putting together a package of four drama series and a miniseries - a total of some 60 episodes - that would be taken out to the VOD and cable space, with Netflix, Amazon and WGN America rumored as potential candidates. Feelers had been sent out, and I hear there's already interest from digital platforms and traditional cable networks in the package, which I hear is in very early stages with very little talent attached.

It would be safe to continue to treat these reports as they are right now: rumors. But it definitely isn't out of the question. There are plenty of stories fans would love to see played out on the small screen. This opens up plenty of possibilities.

What project would you most like to see developed?
