The number one show of early 2013 is returning in early 2014 with brand new episodes and one of the most anticipated seconds seasons. FOX's The Following has just released its first promotional trailers for season two and we get our first glimpses of how Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) is doing after the explosive first season that introduced us to his fight with Joe Carroll (James Purefoy). (SPOILERS to follow)

Season one of The Following left us on a pretty huge cliffhanger: Ryan and Calire had been attacked after presumably killing Carroll. We shouldn't assume too much considering Natalie Zea (who portrays Claire) has signed on for the second season. But when do these upcoming episodes take place? Is Claire just going to be a flashback or has she survived the season finale attack?

Check out this new promo for The Following right here!

"Catching Joe Carroll cost me everything and everyone," Hardy says in this first look at season two. "Now we all want to believe he's dead, but I say he's out there. I'm going to find him and I want revenge."

Also, it looks like Hardy believes that Carroll survived the explosion last season and he's looking for more payback.

Clearly this promo can't give a way too much, but some spoilers for season two of The Following were revealed at Comic-Con in San Diego this summer. For instance, it was revealed that season one was "just the prologue" to the real story that has brought all of these characters together.
