Is Lady Gaga's new Artpop teaser song "Do What U Want" ripped off from about band? Careful listeners on the Internet have noticed marked similarities between the new R. Kelly-featuring track and "The Deep" by rising musical duo Dance With The Dead.

OhNoTheyDidnt user URBASICBYE posted the two songs side-by-side following Internet speculation that Gaga ripped off Dance With The Dead. A surface listen to each track does reveal some sonic similarities. Both begin with a deep synthesized beat, likened to dance music from the 1980s

The songs chug along in the opening moments. Eventually, though the beat in "Do What U Want" drops out in favor for a funky almost tropical-inspired riff. Meanwhile, "The Deep" builds upon the established synth beat with more electronic blips.

As for the band themselves? They don't hear any similarities. "So we were a little confused finding a ton of emails this morning asking is we had collaborated with Lady Gaga and asking if she sampled out song 'The Deep' in her new single 'Do What You [sic] Want.' Truth is we heard nothing about it. We've listened Gaga's song, and it is definitely not a sample or copy of 'The Deep' and we think the songs don't sound alike in any way (go listen and you guys decide). Anyways, our record comes out in 10 days," J and Tony from Dance With The Dead wrote on their official Facebook page, which boasts slightly under 700 likes.

Lady Gaga has yet to comment on "The Deep" versus "Do What U Want." Her third studio album, Artpop, will be released on Nov. 11. Meanwhile, Dance With The Dead's debut effort will drop on Halloween.
