The highly anticipated Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag hits shelves next week so Ubisoft has released the "ultimate" trailer for the upcoming game. This 9-minute walkthrough video shows new footage and explores weaponry, story, ship upgrades, game mechanics, and sandbox elements. Plus we get a great look at the controversial feature of whaling (sorry PETA).

Check out this brand new, 9-minute walkthrough video for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag:

Here is the description accompanying this new in-game video footage:

In this ultimate preview of Assassin's Creed 4, learn everything there is to know about the largest and most immersive Assassin's game ever created. See how Edward Kenway takes on the Golden Age of Pirates, and meet the outlaw characters that defined this unforgettable era. Experience the breadth of this open-world, including enhanced naval gameplay, expansive new environments, exotic animals and the vibrant underwater world. And learn more about new combat features and weapons, including dual-sword attacks, multi-gun abilities and the free-aim system.

One of the biggest issues with this game is not the quality of it, but the fact that whaling is involved. In fact PETA condemned the game for this very reason.

The organization stated in a press release: "Whaling - that is, shooting whales with harpoons and leaving them to struggle for an hour or more before they die or are hacked apart while they are still alive-may seem like something out of the history books, but this bloody industry still goes on today in the face of international condemnation, and it's disgraceful for any game to glorify it."

But Ubisoft responded with this message to PETA: "History is our playground in Assassin's Creed. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is a work of fiction that depicts the real events during the Golden Era of Pirates. We do not condone illegal whaling, just as we don't condone a pirate lifestyle of poor hygiene, plundering, hijacking ships, and over-the-legal-limit drunken debauchery."

The issue is still prevalent, but that aspect of the game has not been removed.
