Julianne Hough decides to dress up in Blackface for her 'Orange is the New Black'-themed Halloween costume

25-year-old actress Julianne Hough and some friends decided to dress as character from one of their favorite new shows: the Netflix original series Orange is the New Black. This seems like a pretty easy costume to pull of considering the prison inmates in the show all have either orange or light brown uniforms. But Hough decided to take her costume a step further when she chose to dress as "Crazy Eyes," an African American character from the show. Yep. She did blackface, you guys.

She also altered her blonde hair to look more like the character, but the blackface is clearly the issue.

In case you didn't know (because apparently people still don't know this (looking at you, Julianne)) blackface is very racist. It is maybe the most racist. Keep that in mind next time you want to dress up for Halloween as someone of a different race than you.

Julianne Hough made a huge mistake. She is a well-known actress/ex-girlfriend of Ryan Seacrest, so she will pretty much always be in the public eye. Why she decided to do such a thing as blackface is beyond any form of comprehension that this writer can fathom.
