Jason Reitman is an acclaimed director, known mostly for his dramatic comedies like Juno, Up in the Air, and Thank You for Smoking. In his latest film, Labor Day, he drops the jokes and focuses on the drama. Starring Josh Brolin and Kate Winslet, Labor Day is looking like one of the year's best films.

Though Labor Day is clearly not a comedy in anyway, Reitman sticks to his familiar coming of age storyline. Winslet plays a depressed single mother, but one day she and her son (Gattlin Griffith) offer a ride to an injured man (Brolin) who turns out to be an escaped convict. From there the story explores the relationships between the characters - captor and prisoner, stranger and impressionable boy, etc.

"By some great moment of kismet, I met my cinematographer Eric Steelberg when we were both fifteen," Reitman said in a statement that accompanied this exclusive trailer. "Old enough to want to make movies but young enough to be dropped off by our parents on our first set. We started together on little videos, then moved to shorts, commercials, and eventually feature films. I've watched him grow as an artist and a technician over the course of twenty years, but I've never been more proud to present a peek into our collaboration. In order to realize this movie, we had to recreate the era in which we first met. Enjoy a first look at our new film Labor Day."
