Filmmaker James Cameron's latest project involves bringing awareness to climate change and the harsh impact it has on the world, specifically the parts of the planet that people don't usually see on television or in the news. The Avatar director uses his connection with well-known celebrities to get this point across by putting actors like Harrison Ford, Jessica Alba and Ian Somerhalder into these environments in upcoming episodes of his show, Years of Living Dangerously. This week, SHOWTIME and Cameron have shared a first look at the series.

Here is the synopsis for Years of Living Dangerously:

"From the damage wrought by Hurricane Sandy to the upheaval caused by drought in the Middle East, this groundbreaking documentary event series provides first-hand reports on those affected by, and seeking solutions to, climate change. Coming in 2014."

This documentary series uses a-list actors as "correspondents" for the stories covered throughout. Celebrities like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Matt Damon, Harrison Ford, Jessica Alba, Olivia Munn, America Ferrera, Michael C. Hall and Don Cheadle. Other correspondents include activists that have been discussing the issue of global warming for years now.

In Years of Living Dangerously, audiences will finally get to put faces to the actual people being affected by climate change and global warming, which is something that has rarely happened before. Cemeron's special will air sometime in 2014, so expect more coverage and promotions for the series as the months go by.
