This week on Saturday Night Live, Scandal star Kerry Washington took on hosting duties for the first time and hopefully not the last time. Washington was a hit as she showed off her comical side not often witnessed thanks to her dramatic roles we know her for. Plus musical guest Eminem, who performed two rand new songs off of his upcoming album The Marshall Mathers LP 2, joined her.

It was really great to see an actress take on the role of Michelle Obama, especially someone as talented as Washington. SNL even poked fun at the fact that it has "been years" since Barack last saw his wife. This of course was referring to the last time we saw someone portray the first lady on SNL (Maya Rudolph had played Mrs. Obama before). In fact, the sketch evolved into poking fun at the lack of black female cast members on the show and having Kerry play every black woman in this scene. Plus Reverend Al Sharpton stopped by to explain exactly what we learned from his cold open. Was this the best cold open of the season?

Check out Kerry Washington's monologue in which she talks about her hit show, Scandal, and race!

So far so GREAT! Check out a handful of sketches from this week's episode of Saturday Night Live and see if you enjoyed Kerry Washington as host as much as everyone else!
