While covering a story last week involving a hostage situation in a local neighborhood of Washington, D.C., a WUSA9 news team was attacked by an enraged woman. Though the original hostage story was hectic enough, this angry woman made the coverage much scarier when she came out of her home to spray mace at and then eventually throw punches at the television news crew.

Reporter Bruce Johnson and camerawoman Danielle Gill were knocking on neighbors' doors to get some coverage of the hostage situation when this unidentified woman began her attack. At first the young woman (with a sweet tattoo on her chest reading "BOSS") yelled from her second-floor window at the crew to leave, but soon saw fit to come out of the house to continue the yelling.

Almost immediately after stepping out of her front door, the young woman felt it necessary to spray mace at the news crew. Though the mace harmed nobody, things escalated from there when the woman got physical with Johnson and Gill.

Some punches landed and the woman had to be taken away by her friends/family members who had also come out of the house to stop the filming. As Johnson points out in the coverage of this story, police eventually showed up and are reviewing the video to see if there need to press charges.

Johnson explains in this segment that neither he nor Gill decided to press charges because they might have just interacted with one of the hostages from the previous story. Deciding this woman had probably been through so much and that nobody got hurt, WUSA9 would leave this story as just a strange occurrence.
