Country Music Television is getting into the mobile app game. Today (Nov. 7), CMT announced that it will launch a TV Everywhere app to allow fans to stream entire seasons of their hit series, and even give sneak peaks of upcoming shows and episodes.

The app, which launched this morning, is led by the season premiere of the reality TV show Sweet Home Alabama, wherein bachelorette Kelsey Smith looks for love in the South and in the big city. Now in it's fourth season, the app will allow for fans to watch a new episode of the show one week before it's set to premiere on TV, helping to bring the app into existence and gain a viewership on this new platform.

Of course, the CMT app won't just be a vehicle for Sweet Home Alabama. Full seasons of other shows, such as Dog and Beth: On The Hunt, Cassadee Pope: Frame by Frame and Trick My Truck are also available for streaming by fans.

The app seems to be a win-win for both CMT and its viewership. Fans of the cable channel's programming will have a new way to watch their favorite shows how they want and when they want, while CMT will be able to boast it's new platform to its advertisers. This was a sentiment echoed by VP of Connected Content Martin Clayton in a press release. ""With this launch, we're giving fans more opportunities to access their favorite shows and characters, while at the same time providing new ways to work with our cable and ad partners," he said. "This new app experience will immerse our audience in the CMT brand and allow us to deliver them new video content every day."

CMT is not the first music and reality-centric channel to launch a viewing app with pre-release content. Earlier this year, MTV premiered the entire season of its new show Wait 'Til Next Year on their ready-to-watch app before its release date.

CMT's app is available for iOS devices now in the iTunes store.
