After an exciting box office weekend with the release of Thor: The Dark World last week, it looks like we've calmed down quite a bit in terms of new releases. The only movies coming out this weekend that have big names in them include Alexander Payne's Nebraska, Charlie Countryman and The Best Man Holiday. Though it might not sound too exciting, this weekend offers us a great selection of new films that range from feel-good holiday reunions to thoughtful comedies about unique individuals and situations. So let's take a look at what we'll be seeing in theaters for the weekend of November 15, 2013.

We should definitely start with Alexander Payne's Nebraska because this film is getting a lot of critical attention this year. Starring Bruce Dern as a confused and stubborn old man who thinks he's won a sweepstakes, the film explores the concepts of family and coming to terms with reality. Though it is a comedy, critics have praised the film for its sincerity in exploring such hard subjects as aging. Former Saturday Night Live cast member Will Forte plays Dern's son who accompanies him throughout the movie with supporting roles from Stacy Keach, June Squibb, and Bob Odenkirk (to name a few).

Moving from one of the highest rated films of the year to one of the lowest, Charlie Countryman also comes out this weekend. In this "romantic comedy, action" film, we follow Charlie (Shia LaBeouf) as he travels through Europe, falls in love with a girl named Gabi (Evan Rachel Wood), and then falls into some sort of adventure in order to fulfill a promise he made to his mother in a vision.

The last movie we'll showcase this week is The Best Man Holiday. This American Black Christmas feature is the sequel to 1999's The Best Man and has the cast return for a special holiday reunion of some of our favorite characters. The movie stars Taye Diggs, Nia Long, Morris Chestnut, Harold Perrineau, Terrence Howard, Sanaa Lathan, Monica Calhoun, Melissa De Sousa and Regina Hall.

If these films don't get your attention, you can always just see Thor: The Dark World instead!
