Ron Burgandy will be honored at Emerson College when they name their School of Communication after him (for a day)

Emerson College announced on their website that on Wednesday, Dec. 4, for one day only, its School of Communication will get a new name. The Ron Burgundy School of Communication is honoring Anchorman's infamous newsman and the students will get a chance to see Will Ferrell, apparently in character, during his visit to the campus.

Emerson's site states: "The KVWN Channel 4 Action News TV star who coined the phrase 'You stay classy, San Diego' will share his path to journalism greatness with students during a day-long visit, which will include a morning press conference, the official naming ceremony, and an evening screening of Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues for the Emerson community."

The college in Boston is getting a ridiculously lovely treat with this event. Students will forever get to say that the attended the Ron Burgundy School of Communication. Incredible.

The Anchorman himself commented on the event. "I had to pinch myself really hard when I learned that Emerson College was naming its School of Communication for me. It's kind of a big deal," said Burgundy. "I can't wait to inspire students with my story of how I got to the top...the very top. I'm not going to sugarcoat it. It's a lot of work, especially if you don't have good hair."  

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues will hit the theaters on Dec. 20 and is sure to be a box office hit. In addition to the film, Burgundy's first memoir Let Me Off at the Top! My Classy Life and Other Musings is available Nov. 19.

The naming ceremony on Dec. 4th will stream live on Emerson's website as it takes place at 11 a.m. EST.
