Right after one character was confirmed for Star Wars Episode VII (R2D2, by the way) new casting rumors and speculation have surfaced. According to numerous sources, Doctor Who star Matt Smith has auditioned for a role in J.J. Abrams' 2015 film. Also, another British actor posted a photo a familiar looking red script on Instagram.

This actor in question is Jason Flemyng (X-Men: First Class, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) and the picture has since been deleted, adding a little more suspicion to the case. Here is the picture from Flemyng's account:

This looks just like the scripts we saw earlier this year in a Bad Robot Twitter post. The actor is no stranger to sci-fi so it wouldn't be a surprising casting choice.

Bleeding Cool is reporting that Matt Smith has auditioned for a Star Wars Episode VII role. This report is admittedly a rumor, but Smith being involved in the movie would make the Internet explode. The Doctor Who star already has amassed a large following and fandom, so adding Star Wars fans to that would really be something.

Let's keep our fingers crossed for that one.

Meanwhile, David Oyelowo, from Lee Daniels' The Butler, has been attached to Episode VII rumors for quite some time and recently addressed the claims.

"Everyone is asking me about Star Wars," he said. "The breaking news is J.J. Abrams is going to give you that breaking news....I'd go anywhere to work with J.J. Abrams. I think what he did with Star Trek was so extraordinary...And I think what he'll do with Star Wars will be just as impressive."
