'Saturday Night Live' December hosts, musical guests include Jimmy Fallon, Justin Timberlake, Paul Rudd and more

Saturday Night Live has already pulled in big names for its 39th season, with hosts like Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga and Tina Fey. It seems impossible for the late-night sketch comedy show to top that with its December lineup. However, SNL fans need not worry: the program has released the hosts and musical guests for the next three episodes, and they're jam packed with tried and true hosts.

Paul Rudd will kick things off with heartthrobby boy band One Direction on Dec. 7. It will be Rudd's third time fronting SNL and he'll be promoting his new film Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. Fans can expect some more silly hilarity from Rudd like in his 2010 run, wherein he parodied Beyoncé's "Single Ladies" music video. And, of course, 1D will be rocking out to music from their upcoming album Midnight Memories.

The Dec. 14 episode will see the 13th appearance of SNL mainstay John Goodman. One of the people to host the show the most times in its history, this year will mark Goodman's first return to the NBC show in 12 years. As he delights, Kings of Leon will ride their Mechanical Bull into 30 Rock.

Finally, the Dec. 21 Christmas episode will be the most hotly anticipated shows of the year. Late Night host and SNL alumnus Jimmy Fallon will return to host with none other than favorite Justin Timberlake as the musical guest. Expect the Barry Gibbs talkshow and perhaps the return of Andy Samberg and the "Dick in a Box" R&B crooners.
