Kelly Clarkson may have been totally anxious to get pregnant, but there's one thing the Wrapped in Red singer may not have expected: morning sickness. Today (Nov. 26), Clarkson went on The Today Show (via US Weekly) to promote her new holiday album and shared her glee about being with child. However, her illness is not just limited to the a.m. hours.

"I don't know why they call it morning sickness. That's my big joke right now because it's all day and all night. I am super excited about being pregnant, though. I'm just looking forward to the second trimester. They say it's better," she said on the morning talk show.

In edition to her tummy troubles, Clarkson also shared why she decided to announce her pregnancy so early. "We were trying to wait until the end of my first trimester because you're supposed to, I guess, because you're less likely to have a miscarriage. But everybody kept talking about it and I had to cancel something because I've been so ill. I didn't want people to think I was cancelling because I'm lazy or something, so we just told people.

Clarkson first announced that she was expecting earlier this month on her official Twitter and Facebook pages. The American Idol winner just married music manager Brandon Blackstock on Oct. 20 and soon after they tied the knot, Clarkson began expressing her desire to start a family as soon as possible. She even said that all she wanted for Christmas was a baby in her belly!

Seems like her dream is coming true.

Clarkson is early in her pregnancy, but she will be due sometime in 2014. This will be her first child and the third for husband Blackstock. He has two children (ages 12 and six) from a previous marriage.
