Whether or not you loved it or you hated it, there's no denying that NBC's live production of The Sound of Music last week was a massive hit for the network. Starring country music sensation Carrie Underwood and a slew of Broadway's best actors and actresses, the program drew in over 18 million viewers and gave NBC its best Thursday night ratings in four years. So, of course the network is just itching to do it again.

According to USA Today, NBC is already looking to do another live musical event for next year's holiday season.

Following the Sound of Music Live! broadcast on Thursday, Dec. 5, NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt told the New York Times, "All weekend, people have been calling us and emailing us. Rights holders of musicals have said, 'Please do one of our shows.' We're excited to try it again."

And what's the leading contender? As if now, USA Today reports the answer is Peter Pan.

Even though The Sound of Music received mixed reviews from Twitter fans and critics (mostly due to Underwood's portrayal of Maria), the $12 million production turned out to be a big hit, so it's no wonder that NBC wants to do it all over again and again.

What musical do fans want (or not want) to see for December 2014? Sound off in the comments!
