NBC's Parks and Recreation and Fox's Brooklyn Nine-Nine are two great comedies with great casts involved. And now a new deal over at Brooklyn Nine-Nine has just made them even more similar by casting Parks and Recreation's no-nonsense lawyer Trevor Nelson in a key role. Actor Marc Evan Jackson will play Captain Holt's (played by Andre Braugher) husband Kevin.
TV Line reports:
Brooklyn Nine-Nine will be introducing the husband of Andre Braugher's veteran cop in early 2014, and TVLine has learned exclusively that he will be played by actor-comedian Marc Evan Jackson. The 99th precinct will meet Kevin when he invites them to Holt's birthday party at their home.
Maybe one of the funniest parts of this casting news is that Kevin's last name is Cozner, therefore opening up plenty of jokes for Peralta (Andy Samberg) and the rest of the crew.
"It's very fun," creator Michael Schur promised for the 2014 episodes. "There's a lot of Terry Crews and Andre Braugher together, which I love. The two of them have a big storyline together and they're really, really funny together.
"And then there's some Super Bowl specific stuff but we really just tried to create a really just big, bright, funny, juicy, comedy story. We're hoping a lot of people will check out the show for the first time," Schur explained. "Because the entire universe watches the Super Bowl. And so we really just wanted to sort of introduce the characters to a wider audience. We tried to just build a couple stories that are really explaining in the funniest way who everyone is."
