2013 was the year of Ariana Grande in many ways. She saw an incredible amount of success in her music career and also made headlines by dating The Wanted's Nathan Sykes. The two recorded a duet for the Mortal Instruments: City of Bones soundtrack entitled "Almost is Never Enough," which soon resulted in dating rumors. They soon confirmed their relationship on Twitter back in September and have been adorable ever since. Unfortunately, it looks like this relationship might be over!

In her Teen Vogue cover story for the February 2014 issue, Grande opened up about her relationship with Sykes.

"It's not as tough as people would think," the singer said. "We have the same music manager, so we can see each other's schedules and plan little trips as often as we can."

But did she speak too soon? Does she regret having said this now that she and Sykes are reportedly split up?

But what happened? The two seemed to be really into each other and constantly sang praises of the other. Even their relationship announcement was pretty cute.

"So, I guess it's obvious now," Sykes tweeted back in September. "Thanks to everyone who is being so lovely. I'm so happy #but weareterrified #pleasedontkillme #orariana"

Do you think he regrets those hashtags now?

Though it might take us a while to stop wondering why they broke up, one insider shared the possible reason recently.

"They just weren't into it anymore," the source said.

Sometimes the simplest of answers makes the most sense.
