For German side Schalke to have any chance of knocking Real Madrid out and progressing in to the UEFA Champions League Quarter Finals they would of had to win their home fixture to have a real chance of doing so. The German giants lost 6-1, ensuring they need a miracle in Madrid to progress. Not many teams win in Madrid, especially when they're in need of so many goals to progress. Although it's not impossible, this would be the greatest comeback of all time, and it's likely they will be simply playing for pride in their match tonight.

It looks likely. That Madrid will rest Gareth Bale, but Cristiano Ronaldo should still play. The Spanish side will look to rest some of their stars, but will attempt to put out a team strong enough to stop any possible Schalke comeback. The German side will find it hard to stop an in form Ronaldo and Luka Modric, and their best bet would be to ensure no repeat of their first game against one another occurs.

Can Madrid win it all? They'll be been desperately seeking a Champions League final win for a while now, and arguably they're one of the favourites to lift the trophy. Madrid can defend, score and they have the hunger to succeed, which many of their quarter final rivals lack, having won the Champions League recently.

An interesting fixture would be a quarter final draw against Spanish rivals Atletico Madrid. Real would rise to the occasion and likely progress, but could they go any further?
