The 2014 NBA Draft is set to be one of the greatest in years. The talk of what picks will be made are in full swing, and that's crazy considering the NBA playoffs have yet to even start, let alone the draft, but for the struggling teams, this is the only thing they've got to look forward to. If they select correctly, it also possibly provides them with an opportunity to get in to the playoffs themselves the next season. Here's a look at how the top-five picks of the 2014 draft could shape up if they were made today.

1. Milwaukee Bucks: Jabari Parker, SF/PF, Duke

Jabari Parker has long been locked in a battle for the number one pick with rival Andrew Wiggins, but could he fall below the second or third pick? Some reports suggest that if he declares for the draft he'd be very lucky to remain the favourite for the number one pick, however, Parker's shown his capabilites all season long, and he's one of the safer picks, and one that will turn a franchise around. Parker will be number one, it's just a question if the Bucks can hold on to the pick when the draft lottery comes around.

2. Philadelphia 76ers: Andrew Wiggins, SF, Kansas

Some would say Andrew Wiggins should be the number one pick instead of Jabari Parker, and whilst it's possible he might be, it's looking increasingly unlikely. There's no doubt the freshman will become a solid NBA player, and possibly a star. He's rated so highly that some have suggested that the Philadelphia 76ers have purposely tanked to get a pick in order to select the star. The 76ers need a lot of help, and Wiggins would instantly upgrade them in a lot of ways.

3. Orlando Magic: Dante Exum, PG/SG, Australia

The Orlando Magic have been struggling in their efforts to rebuild ever sicne they lost the dominant Dwight Howard, but with yet another high selection, they'll believe they can finally put a team on the court to be proud of. Guard, Dante Exum, is highly sought after and could be the perfect player in Orlando's quest for glory. They need a leader, and somebody that can dominate from the back-end of the court, like the Cleveland Cavaliers needed when they drafted Kyrie Irving. Exum is often compared to Damian Lillard and Kyrie, and if he can achieve half of what that pair have, the Magic will be very happy.

4. Utah Jazz: Marcus Smart, PG, Oklahoma State

The Utah Jazz are in need of a lot of different skills, and luckily for them Marcus Smart should be available, and will fill many of their needs. Smart has proved a capable, creative and (excuse the pun) smart guard, that will no doubt transition his game to an NBA court with ease. Whilst he's not the most glamorous player in this draft class, he has that extra bit of experience and may be a top contender for the 'Rookie of the Year' award. A must-have player for the Jazz.

5. LA Lakers: Joel Embiid, C, Kansas

Joel Embiid has been the surprise package of NCAA basketball this season, and the LA Lakers have been surprisingly bad, so the two may be a match made in heaven for one another. Embiid has suffered from a back injury recently, and that will worry the Lakers, who are only drafting so high because of injuries of their own. Embiid has a lot to learn, but he will get the time in LA, and he can be the start of their new generation. Embiid can help them finally replace Dwight Howard. If he had more experience (he's relatively new to the game of basketball), we'd be looking at a top contender for the number one pick.
