The Templars are the bad guys in the Assassin's Creed video game franchise. That is what gamers are taught throughout the series, but now a new title coming out this year will give us the chance to play from the Templars point of view. Is this something you'd be interested in exploring or would you rather stay an Assassin? 2014 has both options for you.

We previously reported on the announcement of Assassin's Creed Unity. This new title will take place in 18th-century Paris, France, during the French Revolution. We've seen the official teaser trailer for Unity, but we haven't heard about the other game coming from Ubisoft for this franchise, Comet.

Well now we have some leaked information from credible sources claiming Comet, the second Assassin's Creed titled of 2014, will be played from the point of view of the Templars.

Unity will be released on the next-gen consoles as well as PC, whereas Comet will live on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, or the last-gen consoles. This information is confirmed, but the details of the new game have yet to be officially announced.

Posted on Reddit, sourced from the French video gaming blog GameBlog, we now have at least some rumors about Comet.

Here is an excerpt:

Comet will let you go to New York and do a great deal of sailing along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. One source describes the game as a cross between Assassin's Creed III and the Freedom Cry DLC for Assassin's Creed IV. Sources also say that Haytham Kenway and Adewalé will make appearances, among other returning AC characters.

There's a lot of information to digest, so we welcome you to read the whole translation here!
