Ever since the day Tim Sherwood took over at Tottenham Hotspurs people have been saying it wouldn't last. The former England international had an exceptional start to his management career, but it soon fizzled out, with Spurs looking at other coaching options. Today it was revealed he will leave at the end of the season, no matter what he achieves with his limited time remaining. It couldn't of come at a worse time for Spurs, as they prepare to take on Sunderland.

Tim Sherwood insisted it's "business as usual" for him and his side, and he told Sky Sports News "I can't say much right now. What I can say is tonight [Monday] is business as usual. I'm setting this team up to win a football match for the benefit of the club and the 35,000 Spurs fans who will come and watch. I'll speak at a later stage."

After the World Cup it's believed that several top class players and managers will be available, and clearly the Spurs' board believe they have to prepare to rebuild the club in every shape and form, and that explains his early notice of his impending departure. Sherwood will have a hard time succeeding now, but if he can still get through to his players, then maybe he will walk straight in to a new job this summer.

Tottenham are still suffering from losing Gareth Bale to Real Madrid last summer, and it seems evident that they are in need of a classy leader at the top, as well as some new players to add something new to their suffering franchise.
