Arizona's young first-year forward Aaron Gordon was one of the surprise packages, with many suggesting he'd go on to have a terrific career, regardless of whether he was drafted in the 2014 NBA Draft, or within the next couple of years, however, he has become the latest one-and-done star. He had a stunning season, and an impressive March Madness, meaning it was a wise move to opt in now, as he may of found it tough to top his season in his second year.
The Pac-12 Freshman of the Year averaged 12.4 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game, as his team finished 33-5. At 6-foot-9 and 225 pounds, it's clear that Gordon has the frame and build to become an instant success in the NBA. Many believe he will be a lottery pick, with teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Detroit Pistons potentially targeting the talented freshman.
He joins fellow first-year player, Andrew Wiggins, who is also going straight to the NBA. This is another small detail in the build up to a very promising draft class, but the one everybody is wanting to hear from is Duke's Jabari Parker. The talented freshman has hinted he will stay in college for one more year, but many are hoping he jumps on board with Gordon and Wiggins, which will make for an exciting set of NBA rookies.
Will Aaron Gordon become an instant hit in the NBA, or will the Arizona freshman live to regret his one-and-done decision? Should Jabari Parker join Gordon and opt to be drafted at the first possible chance, or would he be wise to wait.
