Katy Perry and Music Producer Diplo Romance Heating Up. [Rumors]

It looks like there are definitely some fireworks between Katy Perry and music producer Diplo.

The couple made headlines earlier this month after being spotted together during the first weekend of the Coachella music festival, and it seems that it wasn't just a concert romance.

Perry and Diplo (named Thomas Wesley Wentz) were getting pretty cozy on Thursday, during a dinner date before attending the afterparty for The Amazing Spider-man 2 at Skylight at Moynihan station in NYC. The couple spent an hour at the party before going to West Village hot spot, Up & Down. A source tells E! News that the couple spent two hours at the nightclub before departing in separate taxis, which were headed towards the same hotel.

An insider for the couple told E! News that despite being called the next it-couple, that the two were just "good friends," a comment which another source reputes, saying the two have been quietly together for quite sometime.

"They get on really well," the source tells the entertainment news outlet. "He's just a fun guy and he makes her happy. They met when they started talking about doing music together, but there was an obvious chemistry there."

Katy has been separated from her ex-boyfriend John Mayer since February; their relationship lasted for about a year and a half. Perry poked fun at her relationship drama earlier this week on Jimmy Kimmel Live telling a superfan that she was lucky because "At least [she] had a boyfriend."
