Liverpool superstar Luis Suarez follows in footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale by winning the PFA Player of the Year award

For the last couple of seasons many have noted that Luis Suarez was indeed a sensational footballer, but one with an immense attitude problem, however, it seems like he has left his wicked ways far, far behind him, and for that reason he has won over many of his critics this season. His heroics have given Liverpool the Champions League qualification they desired, and left them with the possibility of winning the Premier League.

Luis Suarez has now been rewarded with a personal honour, one that Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale have had, too. He has been named the Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year.

The Uruguayan, 27, received the award at the PFA event Sunday evening. He remained humble, saying "The Premier League is full of really great players and so it is a great honour when these players recognise your work on the pitch,". He will hope that his personal glory is soon overshadowed by a Premier League title, which is still within his grasp.

Alongside this award, Suarez won a place in the Premier League Team of the Year, alongside many other Liverpool stars. Take a look at the best players from the 2013/14 season:
