The NBA playoffs are in full swing at the moment, but some players and teams are already considering their options for next season. Although the likes of LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Luol Deng will be available, there are others that slip under the radar, too. For example, Minnesota Timberwolves star Kevin Love has reportedly told his team that they should trade him now, or risk losing him via free agency.

Although Love has a one-year contract remaining and a player option, he may become as good as a free agent, with the Wolves knowing they need to move him now or risk losing him for little to nothing. So, perhaps Love has the power that free agents possess after all.

Mitch Lawrence of the New York Daily News had this to say :

Kevin Love's people reiterated to the Timberwolves this past week that they had better trade him or else he'll leave via free agency when his contract is up after next season. With Love looking to exit, there's your No. 1 reason the T-wolves have not been able to find a head coach to take over for Rick Adelman. Love wants to play for the Lakers but he's also open to coming to the Knicks.
The Timberwolves will be desperate to keep their star player, especially as the big-time player needed to replace him, will certainly not want to come to Minnesota, regardless of who that player may be.

Should the Timberwolves try and keep him, let him test free agency a year from now or trade him while there's still some tremendous value in doing so?
