2014 hasn't quite gone to plan for Meek Mill and Dion Waiters. The two represent Philadelphia, where they both come from, and ironically the pair made the top level of their career path on the same day. Meek released his debut album, while Waiters made his Cleveland Cavaliers debut. Meek was tipped to release 'Dreams Worth More Than Money', while Waiters' development has slowed since LeBron James returned to bring NBA glory for the Cavs. However, Meek was sentenced to time in prison, while Waiters has kept the bench warm for much of the season. Reports have suggested that Mill has been released from jail today, and one can wonder, will Waiters release him self from the Cavaliers' bench? The pair thought they had it all, but 2015 might just be the year they fulfil their promise. Read More »
David Blatt and LeBron James both often said before the season that this year, the NBA would see the best of Dion Waiters, but it's been a slow start. The guard has now accepted that his bench role is what's best for the team, and LeBron has added to that view, too. On top of that, he's been locked in a National Anthem race row with some fans, and he's hit out at those who tried to blast him for supposedly staying in the locker room during the anthem. What will happen with Waiters and the Cleveland Cavaliers? Read More »
A year ago Tristan Thompson and Dion Waiters were seen as talented youngsters who were helping the Cleveland Cavaliers with their NBA rebuilding efforts. But this season, with Kevin Love, LeBron James and Kyrie Irving in town, could they take a backseat? Thompson had a terrific preseason outing against the Dallas Mavericks, yet he messed up a goodbye kiss with a female reporter, raising the question: Will he help the Cavaliers this season, or will simple on-court mistakes get in the way of their title dreams? Kevin Love has been slated by Chris Bosh, and even his former team, the Minnesota Timberwolves, but he's taken to his new team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, like a duck takes to water, and to him that's all that matters. The NBA star will play alongside fellow Cavs, LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Dion Waiters and Tristan Thompson this season, and he insists he's happy to avoid the spotlight if it means they win games, and possibly titles. So far the Cavaliers are 4-0 in preseason, and they've barely got out of second gear, so one can wonder, now the Cavaliers have Love, and a good team spirit, will it take them far in to the 2014/15 NBA season? Basketball is a funny game, isn't it? Not long ago, the Cleveland Cavaliers were the laughing stock of the NBA, but now things couldn't be more different. Their starting line-up will include Dion Waiters, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love and LeBron James, and the last two have made their preseason debut for the Cavs. With a new, huge NBA television deal coming next summer, the Cavaliers can restructure contracts and land a fourth superstar to help their team in their pursuit of an NBA championship — but could shooting guard Waiters soon change those plans as he prepares to be the key piece of their roster? Dwyane Wade is preparing for life without LeBron James. He has many changes to get used to. Firstly he is now a married man, after saying "I do" to Gabrielle Union, secondly he has some serial killer shoes, and now he has to try and kill his NBA opponents off one-by-one. However, he will know longer have King James around, he will be looking to Chris Bosh (still) and the newly acquired Luol Deng. Despite having these killer sneaks, can Wade kick it on the court like he did when LBJ was helping him win championships for the Miami Heat? Read More »
The 2014/15 NBA season is a matter of weeks away, and all of a sudden the Cleveland Cavaliers have gone from the basement, to being the team to beat. What an offseason they had, resigning Kyrie Irving, bringing LeBron James back and trading to land Kevin Love. Of course this trio will be enough to frighten the life out of any NBA team, but the NBA should keep their eyes on the Cavaliers young guard, Dion Waiters, who, as strange as it sounds, might just become their MVP this season.
