As the 2014 NBA Draft fast approaches many are looking back to the class of 2013. 2014's class is so strong, that many would've traded the No. 1 overall pick from 2013 for a top ten pick in the 2014 draft. There are a few that have surprised the basketball world and had positive first seasons, but many, including No. 1 pick Anthony Bennett (Cleveland Cavaliers), have been a huge disappointment. Victor Oladipo, however, was one of the only few that people had high hopes for, and although he's endured his ups and downs in his rookie season, he's shown enough to suggest he will be a quality NBA player for years to come.

The star guard has been the shining light of the suffering season the Orlando Magic have endured, and he's averaged 14.0 points per game, 4.2 assists per game and 4.3 rebounds per game. showing that a rookie can make a big impact, even if it's on one of the worst franchises at this current moment in time. With another top pick to follow in the 2014 NBA Draft, it looks like Oladipo will have the help he needs, and perhaps his reputation and statistics will both grow next season.

Although it looks unlikely, Oladipo still has a legitimate shot at winning the prestigious 'Rookie of the Year' award. Before he was drafted many said he played similar to a cross between Luol Deng and Michael Jordan, but for now it's perhaps best to compare him to Dion Waiters. A troubled player on the court, but one who should be able to work through his problems.

Victor has been letting us all know his views in his Slam Magazine 'Rookie Diary', and in April's issue he explained his hard working nature, but the importance to rest and avoid the wild lifestyle some athletes enjoy. He explained ""I'm a hard worker, but I think it's real big to just relax sometimes, let your body heal and let your mind heal. For me, that means movies, video games and laying low in my place."

He's had a good season, and he's prepared to work hard, so don't expect Oladipo to be remembered with the greats of the 2014 draft, rather than the 2013 one, when it's all said and done. Sometimes it can be hard to remember what class a star came from, and you can bet people will think Oladipo was in the class of 2014 in 5-10 years time. Well, at least he should of been.
