2014 hasn't quite gone to plan for Meek Mill and Dion Waiters. The two represent Philadelphia, where they both come from, and ironically the pair made the top level of their respective career paths on the same day. Meek released his debut album, while Waiters made his Cleveland Cavaliers debut. Meek was tipped to release Dreams Worth More Than Money, while Waiters' development has slowed since LeBron James returned to bring NBA glory for the Cavs. However, Meek was sentenced to time in prison, while Waiters has kept the bench warm for much of the season. Reports have suggested that Mill has been released from jail today, and one can wonder, will Waiters release himself from the Cavaliers' bench? The pair thought they had it all, but 2015 might just be the year they fulfil their promises.

Milly's sophomore album was supposed to drop in September, but he was arrested for violating his parole, sending him back to jail in July. His MMG team have, on several occasions, tried to free their star rapper, but to no success. Meek's team are yet to confirm the reports, but today is the day that Meek is finally released, although he will face other punishments along the way.

The rapper cannot travel and he will have to take part in some community service, but perhaps more importantly to himself and the MMG team, he should finally be able to drop his album. The star will hope to inspire Waiters, who promised he would dominate the NBA this season. Strangely, despite being in the best shape of his career, Waiters has been far below last seasons standards, but perhaps a Meek return will lead him to glory.

With Meek now a free man, can Waiters free himself from the Cavaliers' bench?
