Rory McIlroy and Caroline Wozniacki break up, wedding cancelled - golfer dumps tennis star fiancee again!

Just days after sending out the invitations to their wedding, professional golfer Rory McIlroy and his tennis star fiancée Caroline Wozniacki mutually decided to cancel the ceremony and end their relationship altogether. Though the split was reportedly amicable, McIlroy points the blame at himself, stating he was not ready for marriage.

'There is no right way to end a relationship that has been so important to two people,' McIlroy said in a brief statement this week. "The problem is mine."

He added: "The wedding invitations issued at the weekend made me realize that I wasn't ready for all that marriage entails. I wish Caroline all the happiness she deserves and thank her for the great times we've had. I will not be saying anything more about our relationship in any setting."

Though his relationship has come to an end, McIlroy is also in the middle of some legal troubles. The Daily Mail reports:

McIlroy is involved in a lengthy legal battle with his former management company in the courts in Dublin over commissions from his lucrative sports sponsorship and endorsement contracts.

The golf star, who has a $20m-a-year contract with Nike, claims he has paid more than $6.8m based on unreasonable fee rates much higher than the norm in the sports agency industry.
