One of the most anticipated new series of 2014, The Leftovers, is coming to HBO on June 29th from creator Damon Lindelof. Also a co-creator of Lost, Lindelof has become somewhat of a recognizable name for many reasons. In a new profile in The New York Times, Lindelof opens up about how he became a household name, including his recently deleted Twitter account.

This profile mainly focuses on The Leftovers, a new series focusing on what happens after 2% of the world's population disappears in some sort of Rapture-like event. Hence the name of the series.

It's hard not to think of Lindelof's other show, Lost, when discussing his current series. But the creator insists one aspect of Lost won't be present in The Leftovers.

"The Leftovers is not constructed as a cliffhangery show," Lindelof explained. "It's not built to be like, oh, my God, we've got to watch the next episode immediately. But at the same time, it is built so that when one episode ends, you want to keep watching the show. So by virtue of that, [we are] finding the spirit of: Well, what will make someone excited to watch The Leftovers this Sunday night?"

Lindelof also opened up about deleting his once incredibly active Twitter account.

"I do not like the feeling that I experience when people talk about how much Lost sucked. I can no longer acknowledge it. I spent three years acknowledging it. I hear you. I understand. I get it. I'm not in denial about it," he said. "That said, I can't continue to be this persona. I can't continue to acknowledge you, because acknowledging you invites more of it, and it really hurts my feelings. Nobody cares that my feelings are hurt. It's my job for my feelings to not get hurt."
